Yummy May Day Treat

My kids love these!  They are so easy and fun too!  You can use packaged rice crispy treats or homemade.  All you need is some popsicle sticks, chocolate chips to melt and some fun sprinkles.  Happy May Day!

Sweetest Couple

Aren't they sweet?!  I found them on etsy and just received them in the mail.  They make me smile every time I see them.  I had to share them with you.

Irises & Calla Lilies

The weather finally cooperated and I was able to spend a couple days outside weeding, pulling out blackberry bushes and planting flowers.  Hard work, but I love it.  I have never used weed killer and never will.  Lord knows I need some vitamin D from the beautiful sunshine too.  My irises are popping up everywhere.  They have multiplied and are very crowded.  I am planning on relocating them in the fall along the picket fence my husband is building.  I also planted petunias, pansies, geraniums and impatiens in the window boxes and the flower bed.  My husband made the flower bed by attaching an antique headboard and footboard that has an awesome green patina from all the rain.  I love it!  I will show photos soon.
Does anyone know of a natural way to get rid of morning glory?  It is strangling my hydrandeas and I swear it grows several feet over night.

More Sweet Secondhand Treasures

I have really been in the mood to go thrifting.   I was going to plant some flowers outside today but it is still a bit chilly.  I am hoping for some warm sunny weather this weekend so I can plant flowers in my window boxes and flower bed.
Today I found this sweet Bavaria creamer for only a $1,  the little bench for $2.50 and the sweet plate with pink roses for $4.  My husband of course checks out all the old records.  We both love collecting old things and we always have fun junkin' together.

Todays Beautiful Thrifty Find

Today I let my daughter play hooky  from school.  She usually gets three skip days a year because I think everyone needs a break every now and then.  Usually she takes it on my day off so we can spend time together without her brother.  We hit four thrift stores and I found a treasure at our first one! This beautiful chocolate pot covered in roses for $4.99 and three matching cups for $1.99 a piece.  They are marked Germany.  The lid is broken and repaired but I don't care.  I have lots of cracked and chipped pieces that display beautifully nonetheless.  Happy Thrifting!

Boredom meets Glue Gun

My daughter and I were cleaning off the project table and going through the junk jewelry & beads,  when all of a sudden we were bit by the creative bug.  We wanted to hot glue something, but what?   We stumbled across these candle holders we forgot we had...perfect.  We had hours of fun gluing rhinestones and pearls.  We had to make ourselves stop because we would have covered the entire surface.  Lovin' the hot glue gun!
