A Gift From The Past

Today my dear Aunt stopped by with a gift from the past.  She brought me some sweet cards that my Great Grandmother (who I never met) had saved in a scrapbook.   There are even some with bluebirds!  Much of that side of the family is gone including my Dad.  I treasure the friendship I have with my Aunt and I am honored she gave them to me.  I love vintage greeting cards, the words and images are so sweet.  These are even more special because they are from family.  I just had to share a few of my favorites with you.

Praying For Sunshine

It won't stop raining.  Not just raining, but pouring for over a week now.  It feels like November and its cold too.  I am in desperate need of some sunshine and so are my poor flowers.  The peonies and irises are laying on the ground heavy with water.    The good thing is everything is beautiful & green.  Think sunshine!  I hope you all have a wonderful week! ;) ♥

Paper Roses

This afternoon my daughter and I decided to make some paper roses with old sheet music.  We used a couple of different sized heart cookie cutters to trace the hearts onto the music.  We cut out around 10 to 15 hearts per rose and used a hot glue gun to glue them one by one around a wire.  We used a pencil to curl the edges of the rose petals.  This would be super charming as a boutonniere, in your hair or used to decorate a gift.  Hope you are having a wonderful week! ♥

Lazy Sunday

The day started rainy and gray.  Today was one of those days I couldn't seem to get out of my pajamas or put make up on.   I think those days happen when you need a break from it all.  Days like this don't happen very often for me because I only get every other weekend off from work.  My Mom refers to this as  "putzing around the house".  So thats exactly what I have been doing.  I had a picture frame a friend gave me and decided to make a "Bless Our Nest" sign from a vintage bluebird greeting card.  I even managed to go outside (in my pajamas) and cut a rose & a peony to enjoy inside.  I think I will do some housework so I feel like I accomplished something.   The sunshine finally made an appearance.  I hope you all had a blessed weekend!

A Mother's Day Surprise

I went to visit my friend today.  She is the nicest lady I have ever met.  She gave roses to all her customers today for Mother's Day.  So not only did I get a beautiful rose, but she surprised me with something I have been wanting for years.  Aren't they adorable?  I couldn't wait to share them.  I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful friend and to be able to share it with all of you.  Happy Mother's Day! ;)

Some Sweets For Some Sweet Ladies

I went to my absolute favorite candy shop in the whole world today.  While I was there I picked up some treats for a couple of special ladies for Mother's Day.  I found some beautifully packaged truffles and I couldn't resist the pink marshmallows & millinery flowers.  I have been going to this charming shop for years.  I absolutely love it!  It is a treat for all your senses.  One of these days I will take some pictures to share this amazing place with all of you....if only I could share the smell too....heavenly.
Have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!
Thank you for your warm welcome to the blogging world!

Yummy May Day Treat

My kids love these!  They are so easy and fun too!  You can use packaged rice crispy treats or homemade.  All you need is some popsicle sticks, chocolate chips to melt and some fun sprinkles.  Happy May Day!

Aren't they sweet?!  I found them on etsy and just received them in the mail.  They make me smile every time I see them.  I had to share them with you.
